Talking Maori Culture with podiatrist Cynthia Otene.  


Cynthia holds a Master’s degree and is now working towards her PhD in Public Health.


She specialises in primary care assessment and treatment of the diabetic foot in rural and Maori communities.


In 2018, she was the winner at the Primary Healthcare Innovation Awards for her project which focused on improving patient self-care and service capacity in Northland, where there is a high population of Maori with diabetes.
