Diabetes Podiatrist (12 hours per week)
WDHB Diabetes Service, based at both North Shore and Waitakere hospitals, is seeking a Podiatrist to join their well established team. Working alongside the Senior Podiatrist you will be required to deliver specialist podiatry services to people referred to the Diabetes- High Risk Foot Service as part of a multi disciplinary team.
This position is responsible for the management of people with diabetes and active foot complications; providing clinical expertise, coordination of care, assessment, treatment and education while promoting independence and self-management of the patient.
You will have strong clinical skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships within a team and with other service providers. Wound management will be of particular interest to you along with a desire to expand your knowledge and skills in this area.
It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Podiatrist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate and will have some experience specifically related to diabetes. We particularly welcome expressions of interest from individuals who have experience and skills working with people from a range of cultural backgrounds, have a patient centered/whanau approach to care delivery and who love a challenge. This contract would suit a person who is confident and experienced in their clinical practice.
